Care Home Service 2017

Our annual Care Home Service took place in Church on Wednesday 23rd August and was very well attended by 25 residents of the 4 local care homes and Holbeach Hospital, that are all regularly visited each month for a communion service & hymns.

Residents, carers from the homes and our church helpers started to arrive at 2:00 pm, mostly managing to dodge the rain showers. We made up a total congregation of 40, the service was held by Michaela, who is our chaplain to the care homes, and Kate with Rosamund on hand as well. It was a happy occasion with so many different age groups coming together, the warmth of the Lord’s presence was certainly felt. There was enthusiastic singing of some well-known hymns, a short and very touching talk by Michaela and communion or a blessing.

After the service, everyone moved to the back of the Church where an afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes was laid on for our very welcome care home visitors and helpers. There was lots of chatting and laughter which was wonderful to see.

A big thank you to everyone who attended or helped, we hope you enjoy the picture gallery of memories from the day.
