We have 8 bells which were first rung in a full peal on 26th June 1771. The bells are rung every Sunday morning before the 10:30 am service if we can rustle up at least 4 ringers, and they are also rung, if requested, before and after weddings when we can manage to recruit 8 ringers from other local towers. A full team consists of eight campanologists, but anyone is welcome to join us as training can be given.
We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful and extremely enthusiastic bell-ringing tutor in the parish (Michael Slater) who runs a training session, including complete beginners, every Thursday afternoon between 2.30 to 3.30 pm. His efforts have brought us a number of new ringers who are gradually taking their place in the tower to ring for weddings and special services. Michael can be contacted on 01406 424215.
