The Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion or Mass) has always been the central act of worship of the Christian Church, and our life as a parish is centered around our Sunday morning Eucharist at 10.30 am.
Bishop’s Visitation
Our diocese has initiated a 4 year programme of parish visitations. 2 years ago the archdeacon visited the parish and spent time with the church wardens and checked that all our paperwork and systems were in order and undertook a Ministerial Development Review with me and this year (except that, due to the current pressure on our bishops, it has now been delayed until January) we will have a visitation from Bishop Nicholas.
This will be a visitation to the whole parish so that the bishop can get a sense of the general health of our parish life and what makes us tick and will also include a Ministerial development review with me. He will be visiting the parish on two occasions – on Wednesday 22nd January, when I will be putting together a programme of events for him to look round the parish and meet the PCC and ministry team and then again on Sunday 26th January when he will take our morning service.
He will then conduct his review with me the following week.
We look forward to welcoming him to Holbeach.
