Faith Development at All Saints
The Christian life is shaped around loving God and loving our neighbour.
As part of our mission, we run a range of faith development courses and study groups throughout the year, in order to bring us together, help us understand and explore our faith, develop our discipleship and follow in the way of Jesus Christ.
Here at All Saints, we aim to support, encourage and guide you however we can. Please don’t hesitate to talk to any of our Ministry Team, either in Church or via the Who’s Who section of the Website at any time.
The dates for all the Courses & Groups are shown in the Church Calendar.
A fortnightly prayer group meets at the home of Pam Rix in Edinburgh Walk on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm except at major festivals. Those who meet for prayer undertake to pray for our community and its people and for the life of the church. If you are interested in becoming part of this group please contact:
Linda Beverley-Stone – 01406 259496 or Rev’d Michaela Dean – 01945 440347
Bible Study Group
A fortnightly study group that meets on alternate weeks to the Prayer Group so that members can attend both if they wish.
Currently, we are ‘Getting to grips with the Psalms’. There is a signup list at the back of Church.
We run a 5 week Lent Course in the run-up to Easter each year usually using material provided by the diocese of Lincoln.
During February & March 2018, we used the Church Army Faith Pictures course to help us be more confident when talking about our faith to others.
The 2017 Lent Course looking at The Beatitudes, using the Pilgrim Course material ran during March & April.
The 2017 diocesan Advent Course, ran in the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It was entitled Transforming Lives and explored this through Prayer, Care, Justice and Vision. The course was held at the Vicarage on Monday evenings. In 2016 a diocesan Advent Course, called ‘Communities more like heaven …..through people more like Jesus’, was held.
There will be a signup list at the back of Church for the 2018 courses nearer the time or contact: Rev’d Rosamund Seal – 01406 424989
Church of England Courses
At Christmas, Easter and other times, we encourage you to signup and participate in the excellent online courses run by the Church of England.
These will be prominently featured in Church, on our Website and Facebook Group in the leadup to the start of each course.
The Pilgrim Course
We use this Church of England discipleship course both for Confirmation preparation and for our ongoing faith development. Please ask when the next course will be running.
The latest Pilgrim Course Turning to Christ, to prepare 8 people for confirmation ran during May and June 2017.
