St Nicholas Christmas Fayre – 29th & 30th November
Click here for full details & times
Christingle Service – 4:00 pm Sunday 1st December (U)
Our annual service in aid of the Children’s Society which marks the beginning of Advent. A 40-minute service at which everyone is given a decorated orange with a candle. The most magical moment is when everyone stands in a circle around the church, all the candles are lit, the lights are dimmed, and the children sing a verse of Away in a Manger.
Carols in the pub – 8:00 pm Wednesday 18th Dec (PG)
Carol singing in the Horse & Groom on the High Street.
Come and join us for a pint and some carols accompanied by the accordion.
Carols by Candlelight – 6:30 pm Sunday 22nd December (PG)
A traditional candlelit service with readings, congregational carols and the choir. Followed by mince pies and spiced apple punch.
Crib Service – 4:00 pm Christmas Eve (U)
A 40-minute service suitable for the whole family, from toddlers to great-grannies, in which we share the Christmas Story, sing some carols and take our papier-mache Nativity Figures on the last stage of their Advent Journey into the stable in the North Porch as we await the birth of Christ. Ideal for occupying overexcited children and filling in that bit of time before tea and an early night.
Midnight Mass – 11:30 pm Christmas Eve (12a)
Traditional Communion service with carols and a sermon.
Christmas Family Communion – 10:30 am Christmas Day (PG)
A shortened Christmas Communion Service with carols. Children are invited to bring a present to show.
Ring out the Old, Ring in the New – 11.30pm New Years Eve
Join us in the Bell Tower, for a short liturgy as we leave 2019 behind and commit ourselves to 2020, followed by the Bell Ringers ringing out the old year and ringing in the new. All welcome, but you will need to be able to climb the steps to the bell tower platform.
We hope that your encounter with God & the Christ Child at this holy time will inspire you to explore your faith further. Our Ministry Team is always available to help in an unpressured, friendly and welcoming way.
