Easter & Holy Week 2020 (Archive Page)
Details for Holy Week & Easter 2021 will be published soon
It is looking very unlikely that we will be able to join together in our Christian community as we usually do due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Our Church continues to be closed at the present time, but this doesn’t mean that we can’t engage and participate together in the story of Jesus’ journey to the Cross and resurrection. The Holy Week story is profoundly at the core of our Christian faith. We warmly encourage you to use the resources that will be added here over the next few weeks that will still allow you to participate at this most holy time.

Virtual Stations of the Cross videos
This virutal Way of the Cross created by Busted Halo is designed for personal devotion. These stations relate to Jesus’ teachings about the Kingdom of God and the reason his vision of this Kingdom led to his death. Find a quiet place to watch these stations, and as you do the devotions be open to how God is speaking to you through the Stations of the Cross.
Read the Passion Gospel at Home for Holy Week
For those of you who would like to read the Passion Story at home on Palm Sunday because you will miss hearing it in Church; Here is a version produced by David Wilbourne that was used in his church last Sunday. You can read it straight or do the simple activities appropriate to each passage as you go along. You could use it on Palm Sunday or save it to use during Holy Week or on Good Friday; It is up to you. Please print it off for your own use and share it as widely as you can with your friends.

The Way of the Cross:
a free online retreat for Holy WeekThe Holy Week story dominates the gospels, and the cross is the central Christian symbol. Yet all too easily this mystery at the heart of Christian faith slips by in the rush of approaching Easter and its transforming potential cannot penetrate deeply into our lives.
Led by David and Helen Newman, at Launde Abbey, this online retreat offers the opportunity to enter deeply into the last week of Jesus’ life, to find ourselves there with all our sadness, weakness and vulnerability, and to discover the life and hope that emerges out of the darkness.
In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus crisis, we’re aware that many people will be unable to engage with their churches and Christian communities over Holy Week. To help sustain your life of prayer and discipleship, Launde Abbey is offering this entire online retreat free of charge.
Each day’s retreat talk will go live the evening before. Once they are online they’ll stay permanently, so you’ll be able to catch up later in the week or listen to the whole series over the Easter weekend (or even later, if that’s helpful!).
